Ethoma, you have to remember that 'x' is very tiny. The pic is a close up and all zoomed in. As I recall from my grunge days, the x on army boots was kinda big, and I dont think would cause just one wound like that.

Unless your talking about another kind of boot than what I am thinking, if so, you would need to post a pic on here showing the heel of the boot you are refering to.

Actually, I didn't even know army boots have an "x" on the heel. Aside from the "x", I just think the impression could match a heel pressing into his face.
