Umm...I don't know. It kind of sounds like he's saying "the whiskey, don't know bout beer." Meaning, he's ready to get messed up. Interesting to find that, though.

Ummm...it's "heh, heh, no more beer." If you can't hear that, you might want to get your hearing checked. Or your objectivity.

Damien loved to make those leading remarks. He did it to the police during his statement and later during his polygraph and then he told police he would tell them all about the crime if they let him talk to his mother. Plus you have these endless remarks like this about the beer, about the WM boogeyman I mean he buried himself people talk about the police doing this to him.

Damien is and always was his worst enemy.

Are you from the south?  Sometimes it takes someone from the south to understand what someone else from the south is saying.  Well, I'll let someone in my office listen, who has no idea what to be listening for, and I'll let you know what she hears. Okay?

Okay, I asked someone else not involved in this case. She had to listen a couple of times, but thinks he says "no beer."

Dog,

You didn't think this thread topic through too well when you attempted to appease those that have frowned upon your 'fence sitting', did you?

Whilst I appreciate the comments from all and sundry, has anybody considered that Echols was perhaps alluding to the 17th of February, 1994  Misskelley 'confession'?

Quote
DAVIS: Ok what was. Had you had anything to drink or had you done any drugs, anything like that prior to that time. Or during that time?

MISSKELLEY: I was drinking.

DAVIS: Ok what were you drinking ?

MISSKELLEY: Whiskey and..

<snip>

DAVIS: When you say that, what, prior to the boys coming up what was Damien duing ?

MISSKELLEY: He was just getting ..inaudible.. waiting for'm?

DAVIS: Ok. Was he drinking to?

MISSKELLEY: Uhm.. (yes).

DAVIS: What was he drinking ?

MISSKELLEY: He was drinking beer?

DAVIS: And what about Jason ?

MISSKELLEY: Same thing.

DAVIS: Ok. Did they appear to be intoxicated ?

MISSKELLEY: To me they was.

Just a thought.

Appease? He brought up a point is how I think everyone saw it.

I don't think anyone here frowns upon fence sitters, why would we  This is a strange case with a lot of opinions. The only thing I frown upon is the lies and made up stories....

While I am quite sure Dog was just digging around and found this so he posted it here for answers to what he had found, I am positive he didnt do it to show anyone on here which way he may or may not be leaning.  His status should be beside the point.  As for this quote from you, I didnt think about that when it was put up.  It is possible, but as with this case, it seems anything is possible, my little supporter.   ;)

I think that when someone says they are a fence sitter it pisses some of you off.  Im sure you are thinking, pick a side already!  I heard someone say the if your on the fence your just to chicken shit to pick a side in fear you may be wrong.  I call that bullshit, but then again, everyone has their opinions.  I want to be 100% sure that when I choose my side, its what I feel after everything is read and taken into consideration.

I have absolutely no problem with fencesitters....
Damn near everyone started as a fencesitter....

What pisses me off is when someone calls themselves a
fencesitter, but their posts say otherwise.

THAT is not a fencesitter but a chickenshit.
They dont have the guts to take a stand.....

That's what I'm talking about, and unfortunately, this seems to be a majority of those "on the fence".

Rugs,

It is possible he was referring to Jessie's confession, but does not seem likely considering it is a seemingly inconsequential detail of the confession and not something Echols likely would've keyed in on.

CJM and Rudder,

If you are going to say some fence sitters are gutless, maybe you should have the guts to say which ones.

As for me, picking sides has nothing to do with guts, but everything to do with evidence.  Too chickenshit to take a stand?  Maybe you can help me understand what there is to be afraid of...

Sin-cerely,

dog.

This means that Echols attributes drinking beer, at least in part, for why he was on trial for triple murder.  The only way that drinking beer could possibly contribute to him being on trial is if he did some act while under the influence of the beer that is relevant to his arrest.  During all his court testimony, numerous interviews, and news stories up to this date, Echols has never once said the police singled him out because he drank beer, or because he got very drunk.  He never blamed any of his suspicious activities on beer.  Dressing in black, listening to Metallic, magick, teen angst, depression, etc. -- none of that has anything to do with beer drinking.

The only way I can think that beer drinking, in Damien's mind, could possibly have to do with him fighting for his life in court is if his drinking was directly connected to the murder of Steve Branch, Michael Moore, Chris Byers.  After all, if they had not died, he would not be sitting there in court.  So, at a very minimum, "no beer" implies Damien could have stopped the murders if he had not drank the beer.  At a maximum, it implies Damien committed the murders while drunk on the beer.

Well, I agree with you Dog and had not noticed it before. Thankyou. Can you do that with the rest of the film please?!  :D

Just watched Paradise Lost again and I still think the "no more beer" comment is a tip (when asked what he'd if found innocent).  He must have associated beer drinking with contributing to him being there...

CJM and Rudder,

Sorry I never replied to this. What I was agreeing with was CJM's example of someone who say's they are a fence sitter but posts all pro-wm3 crap. It's transparent. The person isn't a fence sitter, they have made up their mind, but for whatever reason, be it chickenshit or just thinking non's would be less likely to call a fence sitter a fucking idiot, they decide to claim to be on the fence. I personally can't stand this type of supporter and have no tolerance of them. I may have classified you like this at some earlier date, dog, but I don't think of you like that now.

Never replied to this idiot either. Doubt it matters anymore, but yes ethoma, I grew up in Mobile, I can fully understand a southern accent and dialect. Patronizing piece of shit, you.

I noticed that the first time I watched PL.  I never brought it up on this board, because I figured it had probably been beaten to death years ago.

To me, it was as if Damien was saying, "No more beer...look at the mess I'm in for drinking too much of that shit."
