Charles Stone, after reviewing his deposits of cash money in the bank, and sifering it all out, determined that Jessie, Fred Rivelle, and company had paid the $300 for the rassling ring a week before. Jessie was not in Dysse wrestling on the 5th of May. He must have left his black mask the week before. I think big Jessie is just confused. He is too simple to just plain lie.

I don't think he's confused at all. This man may have been "simple" as you put it, but I'm betting he understood the police and how it works better than an "intelligent" person who has never been arrested.

I don't think it was to hard for those group of friends to get together and come up with an alibi that fits, doesn't take that much brain power and even then most got it wrong or were totally impeached on the stand.
You can always start with Misskelley SR. and find out how he could have seen his son around at home when he was still at DWI class.
