Can u have an 11 / 10 case without a smoking gun piece of evidence ?
Chief Inspector Gitchell claimed the police had an 11/10 case. Exactly how strong their case was is debateable but does anyone agree that the police DID have an 11/10 case ?
They didnt produce a knife that was definitely used in the murders; there was virtually no blood at the crime scence; there was no strong DNA evidence putting the accused at the scence of the crime;
I would say that an 11/10 case would have the definite murder weapon, the weapon is linked to the accussed in some proveable manner; DNA linking the accussed to the murder site etc.
Was Gitchell trying to convince the public or hmself that he had produced an 11/10 case for the prosecution ? I think both.
Im not looking to debate exactly how strong the case was , Im just trying to see if y'all belive it was as strong as he claimed. From what I gather at the trials some time well into the prosecutions case the victims parents were still waiting for the police to produce strong evidence in line with their 11/10 claims.
What do y'all think ?

All three murderers confessed. I'd say that was an "11".

All that I really have to ask you at this point is: What are you going to bring to the picnic? Todd is bringing the hog, I think that we may be short on side dishes.............you have to bring something that is factory sealed.....................so, do you want to bring chips?

Highly dubious confessions
That's flat out bullshit.
Misskelley's own wintess testified that 99% of the time when someone confesses, they are guilty.
He wasn't retarded, he didn't recant, he had parental concent, and he wasn't denied an attorney - not to mention he maintained his guilt for months to his own attornies after his arrest, and confessed twice more after his conviction.
There is no explaination for this except guilt - it's just as simple as that.
When an accomplice confesses, that's about as smoking gun as evidence gets.
Anyone who convinces themselves otherwise is living in a pretty bizzare world of denial.

Hey Farm, How did they work out those rubbery stats anyway ? 99% of people who confess are guilty ? I dont care whose witness says that I dont believe it. How can you conduct a study on this? How can they know who is guilty and who is not as part of the study ?
I know an expert who will testify that 72.5% of crims in prison are guilty ? If you ask the crims you might find 98% of them say they are innocent. Who can know the real truth to create such a study and such a statistic. Completely spurious.
Well it is a pretty bizarro world..... what can I say ! If im in denial I must be living in Egypt !

I believe denial would be hyperfocusing on a statistic Farm mentions offhand rather than addressing the overall post.

Damien will be getting set 'free' on a May 5th sometime in the near future....................and some of us on this board will be getting together to have a picnic......................we are all bringing something to contribute. What are you going to bring? My remark that yours has to be factory sealed is due to not trusting you.
