I didn't really know where to stick this, so just started a new one.  It has been brought to my attention that there is a new audio tape of a black man that admits to killing the children?  Not that I believe this at all, but can anyone help me find it, it is supposedly on Callahan?

TJM, I haven't listened to any of the audio tapes, so I can't help you there.  But here is an inventory of the boxes of audio and visual recordings from the evidence room.  There were a few strays that were not in these boxes but they are listed in one of my threads that mention the full inventory.

Solodadd, Tweetysocute, and I are actually going to the Evidence room tomorrow to recopy some of these that didn't record last time due to equiptment failure.

Thank you Kitty.  I'll try to find it, but will be honest and say that I am not going to spend much time on looking for it.  I think that is utterly ridiculous.  I could probably search for eons and not find such a thing..........because it doesn't exist, I am fairly sure. 
This was most likely 'said' to someone, with no basis and is now being carried about.  Imagine that.   I will peek around for it, but if anyone should know where it's location supposedly  is, please let me know, and then I will listen to it.

Not that it means much, but its there.

Thank you TexKen.  I was able to find it easily.  However, now that I found it and listened to it, I am a little puzzled.  First, I couldn't really make it out entirely.  I did seem to hear 'kill' and 'three kids'.  I sat there and imagined that it was Damiens voice though!    Second, I listened to the tape over and over and then viewed the handwritten statement from Diane Ramsey stating that she took the call and what it said.  However, the person that answered the call was definately a man, and not a female.  I have never met a man named Diane, not saying that there isn't one, but I don't know of any.  That is just very strange to me.  The phone call was very creepy and gave me chills though.

TJM     I think that there is some confusion/miss-filing between these two scenarios.

1.) Diane Ramsey statement says she received a call from a man claiming to have killed
the kids on 5-11-93 @ 11:23 am.

2.) This taped call was made to a police department on 5-10-93 @ 3:36 pm. What I hear,

Tape begins: Normal police dept. background chatter, phone rings.
Officer: Police Department.
Caller: I da one who killed the kids…three kids. What ya gonna do?

I don’t know which police department received that call (Marion, West Memphis or some other station) but the envelope is labeled:

From: Inspec. H ? (not sure here, could be Hall, Holland, can’t tell)

Bottom line, I think these are two different scenarios completely. There was so many calls coming into police departments as is always the case. Just that these two are not related.

Thanks for the post.  That mix up really bothers me though, how about you?  I know that the police depts now have means to pretty much tell your blood type, when you call them.  Do you know what they were capable of back then? 
I don't even know why that tape is bothering me, or if it is the tape or the mix up.  Regardless, something 'bout it is bugging me.

Could have been a mix up but also could have been a crank call , confession junky,  if it were happen to be connected to this case. They didn't say anything really before hanging up, gave no details just the statement itself. Could have been someone calling as a smoke screen for somebody else - like protecting the real perp.

It has no context so it could have been any number of things.
