It is my understanding after watching the CNN program and from transcripts during the trail, that those pictures were taken by the police the day after the murders before Damien became an "official" suspect-the police asked "if he heard any thing about the murders" and asked him to keep his ear out for any information on the street. During the course of the meeting at Damien's home, the officer asked if he could take the pictures and Damien agreed.
