Isn't the belief in the innocence of the WM3 pretty mainstream now?  CBS News is pretty mainstream.

If I hear one more person say that the media has "changed its' mind, and now believes in their innocence," I'm going to blow a gasket.

It's the media, dave...you know, those people who make their living selling stories. They thrive on controversy - hell, they deliberately create it - because anything controversial with opposing sides is great for news ratings.

It's really just as simple as that.

Someone said that the supporters were fringe.  I'm just saying the supporters are pretty mainstream now.  The CBS report didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.

"I guess what I really meant was "Would you be comfortable that a guilty person was being executed". "

Dave this is a totally different question. If you wanted to know where people stand on the DP, then just ask.

Semantics. Yes, of course if you are anti-dp you would not be comfortable seeing someone executed.  I used my own example above.  I am anti-DP but when "Tookie" Williams was executed here in California, I was convinced that a guilty man was being killed.

I would be totally comfortable if Misskelley and Baldwin were executed tomorrow.

Does that help.

Yes.  It helps me realize that your next cause should be to reopen the McMartin Pre-School case and put those evil people to death as well.  Dude, THERE WERE TUNNELS UNDER THE SCHOOL!!!!

I agree with Rudder.

Obviously this is very much a hypothetical, but if it was only up to me only to do it in the made up community, I would grit my teeth and get it over with. I absolutely adore animals, especially dogs, but if a rabid one was racing around biting all and sundry, savaging children, I would put it out of its misery too, not because I enjoyed it, but because it saved others lives.

It's the only true fair thing to do. No pleasure, just the right thing. One demented life is not worth others destroyed and torn asunder.

Why do you think the murders of this modus operandi stopped after the killers were convicted?

Echols said in 48 hours (paraphrased) "there are still those killers roaming the streets".

OK, where? Curious that killings in this form wasn't repeated. The salubrious WM3 were convicted and it stopped. A coincidence? Or just a case of the rabid dogs being penned so they couldn't go out and strike again?

I kept up with the trial thru 90's and on HBO specials and happen to catch the CBS show the other night...GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!
I really don't understand the drama..if you study case facts and listen to Jessie confession(s) its pretty cut and dry..had Jessie not sung like a bird they may have gotten away with it..maybe

well I am pro-death penalty for exceptionally cruel and barbaric, egregious crimes, like the one Damien, Jason n Jessie participated in.. and I believe they're 100% guilty, so if he was put out of his misery tonight then I would more than satisfied.
