I haven't seen any video of Dahmer's hearings, but it's something I would be interested in seeing. I have read a bit about him but most of it gives me the creeps. I also stumbled upon some pictures a little while ago that I wish I could un-see so I try to avoid looking up anything about him now

You remember the "outburst" on Dahmer's hearing - the Black woman who was screaming "I HATE YOU" and had to be restrained?

I read somewhere that it was that clip which motivated Scarver to beat him to death.

i was gonna bring this lady up~ they show her every time they discuss his trial~ when she screams "i hate you jeffrey dahmer", it was so powerful & you could see her want to jump that barrier & finish the job herself~

i'm glad he got the metal pipe in jail, now that's justice baby!!!~

Jeffrey Dahmer...............................seriously, I know that there are fucked up people in this world.  Actually, that is why we are all here, how we have come together..................but how does someone get as fucked up as Dahmer was??   How does that happen?  How did he even get by in life until all of this started happening? 
Mental health is so interesting to me........................I just don't really 'get it'.    I know that I myself have different moods and such, but how does someone actually get that sick?  How can you look another human in the face and hurt them and take their life?  D, J, and J did that too..........that just baffles me..............that is something that only a very very small percentage of the population can muster up the sickness to do.  I see that puzzle piece with Damien, truly I do in the 500...........in how he carried himself when he was on trial...............that fucked up'ness was still RIGHT THERE, for all to see..............he couldn't hide it or didn't have the sense to even try to...........most of them don't, when they are caught.  It's still RIGHT THERE every time he rights something, or releases anything for the public to read.   How can anyone not see it??  It's so clearly RIGHT THERE.   Jason and Jessie........................I don't really see it with them, because they are more meek, deceiving, not so proud, probably even remorsefu, or at least normal minded enough to ACT itl..................I think that they snapped and got caught up in the moment, they too had so much in their life to cause HATE............that it was just easy for them, they had a leader and just followed along, even enjoying it while it was happening. 

wow, don't know why I got off on that tirade........................weird, killers just interest me..................I wish I could figure them out.

Me too! There was a study done on people who were incarcerated for violent crimes. Brain scans were conducted and it was determined that these individuals had a lack of what is referred to as "impulse control". Remember how we talked about our toddlers? Well, you know how frustrating it can be to deal with a toddler bent on terrorizing the household...but we do it...we don't lose our cool and murder people over it. Some people lack the ability to override their impulse to react violently.

There's a lot of theory over whether it is nature, nurture, or both. I think it varies depending on the person. You take people like Dahmer and Bundy...they grew up in decent homes. Granted, Bundy was pissed when he found out he was raised by someone other than his mother and he was *gasp* a bastard, but hey...suck it up...we all have crappy stuff in our past. Really, I think that serial killers and such are born with a different kind of brain chemistry. They think differently, they react differently, and some of these differences can be noted when examined through a scan of what parts of the brain are active versus which parts aren't.
